Care resources / Across the United States

You deserve care, without judgment.

Find abortion care, help with costs, or someone who will listen. You do not owe us your story. This page is also for people who are undecided, continuing a pregnancy, or sorting through feelings after an abortion.

If sexual violence is part of your situation

Support is available, on your terms

If this is relevant to you, you can contact a trained advocate for support or help finding local sexual-assault services and medical care. You choose what, if anything, you want to do next.

RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline

Free, confidential support is available 24/7 in English and Spanish. RAINN’s privacy policy explains confidentiality and its limits.

RAINN can connect people with local sexual-assault services and information about medical care. Phone, text, and online contact can leave records on a device, account, or network. Check what is safe for you before reaching out.

You do not have to share your experience with this site. If you need urgent medical help, call 911 or go to an emergency department. If someone may hurt you, see relationship safety support.

If someone else controls your choices

You deserve support without pressure

If someone is threatening you, monitoring you, taking your documents, or controlling where you go, you can ask for confidential support. Contacting a service can leave call, text, browser, account, or notification records, so choose the safest option you can. Do not contact a service just because this page suggests it if doing so could increase danger.

National Domestic Violence Hotline

Free, confidential support and safety-planning help in the US. Call 800-799-SAFE (7233), text START to 88788, or chat with a live advocate. The Hotline can connect you with local services. Its site warns internet use can be monitored and cannot be completely erased.

If you are in immediate, life-threatening danger, contact 911 when you can do so safely. This page cannot send help.

If calling or texting could increase danger, do not do it just because this page suggests it. Consider a safer device or a trusted person only if that is safe for you.

National starting points

Find abortion care

Use a verified provider directory below, or call the National Abortion Hotline. If there is no provider nearby, ask about care in another state and help getting there. A clinic can explain which options are available for your pregnancy.

Prefer to call? Start here.

National Abortion Hotline

Call 800-772-9100 for free help in multiple languages. The hotline serves the US and Canada. Staff can help you find a provider, work through care and travel arrangements, and check whether you qualify for financial help. Funding is limited. Check its website for current phone hours.

I Need An A

Search for verified clinics, abortion pills by mail, and support based on where you are and what you need. Check with the provider about your options and what the appointment involves.

AbortionFinder

A national directory of verified abortion providers, with in-person and virtual care options and funding resources. It is operated by Power to Decide.

Repro Legal Helpline

Call 844-868-2812 for free, confidential legal help from If/When/How about abortion, pregnancy, birth, and parenting in the US. You can ask about travel, abortion pills, parental consent, or a concern specific to your situation.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency department. Do not wait for a textline or a funding organization to respond.

Deception, pressure & conditions

When an offer of help becomes pressure

You should be able to find out what a service offers before handing over your records or relying on a promise. Before booking, ask: “Do you provide abortions or refer directly to a provider who does? Is this a licensed medical clinic? What will this visit cost?”

California’s Attorney General warns that crisis pregnancy centers may resemble abortion clinics while not providing abortion care. A free test or ultrasound does not mean a service provides abortions. If a service will not give a clear answer, use a verified provider directory to look elsewhere.

Location, age & access

Help for your situation

You can use this page from any US state or territory. The rules and available care depend on where you are. These links can help you check what applies to you.

Paying for care and getting there

  1. Start with the clinic. The National Network of Abortion Funds recommends arranging an appointment before asking funds for help. Tell the clinic you need help paying and ask which funds it works with.
  2. Look for a fund. Use its local fund directory. If you are traveling, check funds in both your home state and the state where you will get care. Funds differ in whom they can help, how much money is available, and how to apply.
  3. Ask about the whole cost. Include the appointment, tests, medication, transport, a place to stay, childcare, and time away from work. Ask whether someone needs to come with you or drive you home. Before buying tickets, confirm the appointment and any promised help. Funding is limited and may not cover everything.

If you need more travel help, ask your clinic or abortion fund about a referral to The Brigid Alliance. Support can include travel, food, lodging, and childcare. A referral is required, and Brigid will check whether it can help.

California care and rights

ACCESS Reproductive Justice helps people seeking care in California with referrals, funding, transport, a place to stay, and childcare. Call 800-376-4636 for English or 888-442-2237 for Spanish. Interpreters for other languages are available. Its website explains how to request help. Replies may take several business days, and the service may not be able to meet every request.

California’s official abortion information hub has provider search, care information, and guidance for residents, visitors, immigrants, and people under 18. California law protects abortion access, with rules depending on timing and circumstances. A clinician or legal helpline can explain which information applies to you.

California protections do not answer every legal question about a person traveling from another state. Get advice about your own situation, especially if you are a minor or someone is threatening legal action.

Privacy and safer contact

Digital Defense Fund’s abortion privacy guide covers shared phones, messages, browsing, location, and other practical concerns. Choose steps that fit your situation. Sudden changes to a monitored account may be noticed.

We do not ask for your name, location, or pregnancy details. This page has no forms, scripts, or embedded services, and its links do not tell other sites that you came from this page. Your browser, device, network, and our server may still keep records of the visit. The organizations you contact have their own privacy practices.

You do not have to feel a certain way

You might feel relief, sadness, regret, grief, anger, or several things at once. You can talk about any of them. You do not have to hide regret to be welcome here, or call an abortion a mistake to get support.

All-Options Talkline

Peer support for pregnancy decisions and experiences with abortion, adoption, parenting, infertility, and pregnancy loss. Call 888-493-0092 in the US or Canada. Advocates are not licensed medical or mental health providers. If you reach voicemail, say whether a return call or message is safe; its site says callbacks may take up to 48 hours and come from a blocked number.

Exhale Pro-Voice

Nonjudgmental peer support after abortion, including for people with mixed or difficult feelings and those supporting them. Text 617-749-2948 in the US, Puerto Rico, or Canada. English and Spanish support is offered. Check current hours; its site asks people to allow up to 24 hours for a response. It is not emergency or medical care.

For ongoing mental health care, look for a licensed clinician. Before sharing your story, you can ask: “Can you help me talk about this without pushing a religious or political view?”

If you continue the pregnancy

You deserve practical help whether you feel certain, unsure, happy, or overwhelmed. You do not have to have everything worked out before asking for care, food, or help with the bills.

If you are helping someone: ask what they need. Offer something specific, such as a ride, childcare, a meal, or company at an appointment. Let them decide whether that would help. Keep their situation private.

How we chose these resources

We checked each organization’s own website for what it offers, where it works, and how to reach it. Verified abortion-provider directories are labeled separately from general healthcare and support services. We do not list anti-abortion pregnancy centers as sources of abortion care.

We have not assessed every clinic or every person’s experience. Ask the service what it can offer you and how it protects your information before sharing records or making plans.

You do not have to read our investigations, tell us your story, or agree with us to use this directory. If you find a broken link or wrong information, use our corrections policy. Please do not include private medical details.
